Fred Mims, MS, CAPP, CST
Director of Direct Care Ministry
Camillus House
As Director of Direct Care Ministry, Mr. Mims oversees the day-to-day operations of Camillus House’s hospitality services including: food services, shower and clothing exchange programs, courtyard program, day center, and case management services.
Mr. Mims joined Camillus in 2001 as Clinician for the Camillus Life Center and then became Clinical Director of Camillus Life Center in 2003. Most recently, he held the position of Deputy Director of ISPA (Institute for Social & Personal Adjustment).
Prior to joining Camillus, Mr. Mims worked as a Program Director with the Department of Addiction and Preventive Health at the Economic Opportunity Family Health Center, Jefferson Reaves House, women and children residential treatment program.
Mr. Mims brings to Camillus House 18 years of experience in mental health and addictions treatment. He is a firm advocate in peer involvement being a critical component in assuring long-term recovery. He stays active in the community by speaking at local agencies on addiction, mental illness, and prevention.
Mr. Mims holds a Masters of Science in Human Services Administration and a second Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling, both from Springfield College. He is certified by the State of Florida, as an Addiction Prevention Professional, and a Sex Therapist, and he is currently working toward licensure in Mental Heath Counseling.
