Camillus House

As an Intake Advisor & Specialist, Brother Charles has worked in the front office of Camillus House since August of 2004. His duties include engaging persons who are homeless and who come to Camillus seeking help, advising them about our services and making referrals when appropriate. Brother Charles also assigns beds to the individuals staying in Camillus House’s overnight shelter Program.

Brother Charles has been a member of the Religious Congregation of Brother of the Good Shepherd since 1993. Throughout this time he has worked in the Brothers’ various missions for the homeless including Wolverhampton, England, Toronto and Hamilton, Canada. Brother Charles also served several years at the Brothers’ orphanage and school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and he served one year at the novitiate (a training center for new Brothers) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Prior to becoming a Brother, he was with the United Kingdom Customs Department for 17 years, where he worked as a tax inspector and computer programmer. Bro. Charles has a degree in Classical languages from Oxford University, England.
