About Camillus House
Camillus House has provided humanitarian services to persons who are poor and homeless in Miami-Dade County, Florida for nearly 50 years. Established by the Brothers of the Good Shepherd in 1960, Camillus House has grown steadily over the years from a small soup kitchen into a full service center offering a comprehensive “continuum of care” for persons who are poor and homeless.
Every service offered at Camillus is carried out with the deeply held belief that every human being deserves love, respect, and a chance to live a dignified life. Camillus’ goal is to reach the hardest-to-reach and poorest members of our community, giving them the hope and support they need to begin the long, difficult transition to a new life and self-sufficiency.
Who are we?
The CHYL are a diverse group of individuals who share a desire to make a difference in the lives of the men, women and children served by Camillus House. Members support Camillus House by volunteering their time, talents and energy promoting the organization’s mission by raising awareness and funds through various special events and volunteer activities.

CHYL seeks individuals who share our passion for making Miami a better place to live for all - and who are looking for a positive way to make a difference.
Why should I join?
CHYL supports one of the largest and most respected organizations in Miami who is working to solve the problem of chronic homelessness in our community. Members have an opportunity to attend exciting events, meet new people, and develop lasting relationships while having a great time.

What time commitment is involved in joining?
Members can participate as much or as little as desired. You can support CHYL simply by attending events. Members wishing to get more involved in volunteering and/or planning activities are welcome and have many opportunities to do so. We can also provide a way for your company to get involved.
How can I get involved?
It’s easy. Simply attend one of our Lunch & Learn programs where you will get an overview of Camillus House and the services we provide to persons who are poor and homeless. If you are interested in joining CHYL, please complete our online registration form below. New members are always welcome!
