Track 1: Emergency Food Services

Preparing and serving food is one of our most popular and rewarding volunteer opportunities, and one we know you will enjoy. Camillus House accepts volunteers in our food services department at 726 NE 1st Avenue in downtown Miami from 9am-6:30pm Monday through Friday and 7:00am- 12:00 pm on Saturday (we do not have volunteers come in on Sunday). Our biggest meals are the evening meal, served at 6:30pm Monday through Friday and our Saturday meal served from 10:00am- 12pm.

Volunteers may be asked to perform a number of services including food preparation, food service, dining facility preparation and clean up, and more

Track 1 is a great option for individual volunteers who want:

  • A quick process of orientation to immediately begin working
  • Direct contact with the homeless population
  • To "get their feet wet" with Camillus House before committing to a long term assignment
  • Use a limited amount of time (in between jobs, summer off, etc.) they have available

To Become a Track 1 volunteer:

  • Complete our Volunteer application
  • Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule your first visit
  • Sign in when you arrive
  • Sign-up for your next visit at the Volunteer board (located outside the kitchen)
