CAMILLUS INSTITUTE HOSTS FEBRUARY 4-5 SYMPOSIUM ON ENDING HOMELESSNESS

MIAMI -- Experts from around the country will gather on February 4 and 5, 2008 to present the latest research, findings, and trends on homelessness during the second annual Camillus House Institute of Homeless Studies Symposium at the Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay.
The symposium is entitled “Applying Research to End Homelessness,” and will feature keynote speakers Kim Hopper, PhD, professor of clinical sociomedical sciences at Columbia University, and Martha Burt, PhD., director of social services research at the Urban Institute. They will be joined by leading academicians and researchers who have been studying the causes of homelessness and will be sharing what they learned.
The goal of the symposium is to translate three decades of research into practice, so that it can help bring an end to the problem of homelessness.
The Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay is located at 1717 North Bayshore Drive. For registration and more information about the symposium, visit www.camillus.org. This event is funded by Bank of America, the Dade Community Foundation and the Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay.
