MIAMI — Camillus House President & CEO Dr. Paul R. Ahr announced the promotion of Marcy Belfi to Director of Special Events.
“We are very pleased to promote Marcy in recognition of all that she has done for Camillus House," Ahr said. "She has contributed greatly to our mission, elevating both the quality and stature of our fundraising events within the community.”
Befi, who joined the Camillus House staff in June 2005 as Events Manager, will be responsible for all aspects of the charity’s event planning, from strategy to execution. Since coming on board with Camillus, Belfi has been instrumental in developing a number of highly successful events as well as co-branded events with United Way including a record-breaking, fundraising cruise gala and the charity’s involvement in the Miami Wine & Food Festival.
Prior to joining Camillus, Belfi was Director of the Floral Department at the Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando. She also worked 27 years for CIGNA Corporation in Bloomfield, CT. While she was with CIGNA, she served 11 years as Director of Conference Management responsible for more than $7 million dollars in revenue for meetings and events worldwide.
Belfi has held numerous leadership roles within the event management and planning industry including: President of Yankee Meeting Professionals International in Connecticut, and Vice President of Public Relations for the Insurance Conference Planners Association. She has also served on a number of advisory boards convened by the Sheraton, Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, as well as several hotels in Connecticut and the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Area Convention & Visitor’s Bureau.
Raised in Connecticut, Belfi is a graduate of Briarwood College in Southington, CT. She relocated to Florida in 2003.
Camillus House has provided humanitarian services to the poor and homeless populations of Miami-Dade County for nearly 50 years. Established by the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd in 1960, Camillus House has grown steadily over the years from a small overnight shelter into a full service center for persons who are poor and homeless.
